Ask someone if there are legitimate work at home jobs and you will probably hear the response that there are absolutely no legitimate jobs that you can do from home. As a matter of fact, they may even tell you that if you do find a job that offers work from home it is simply a scam or that you have to be skilled in a particular area so either way you end up believing that there is absolutely no way that you can earn money from your home. But is that really true? The only way to really know for sure is to test the cliche for yourself.

First try joining some forums and asking the members if they work at home and which companies they work for. Try to find out as much as you can about the company or job that they perform by asking even more questions. What hours do they work? How often do they get paid? What are the job duties? And so on.....

Visit popular job employment websites such as Career Builder, Monster, and the #1 place where people look to find jobs from all over the country, Indeed.com. You will have to type in specific keywords to find legitimate work at home jobs to eliminate some if not all of the scams. Try searching for remote, telecommuting, virtual worker, remote workers, independent contractor, to name a few.

It will also be beneficial to visit some work at home websites that list companies that hire telecommuters. Some of the websites may even have personal experience or have even worked for some companies or know of some legitimate jobs and can recommend them to those looking for work. Look for a list of jobs on their website or even check out some useful work at home websites that they may feature on their website to continue in your search for work.

If you do find a job that you are interested in working for online, but you are not sure if the company is legitimate you can also research the name of that particular company on Google. If for some reason you can't find out any information on Google, try searching other places like in forums that I mentioned earlier or on the Better Business Bureau Website. You could always contact the company and ask for references, if you are still skeptical about the job. Don't be afraid to contact them to ask them questions about their company because you have the right to know any and all information so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you will pursue this job opportunity. And if they refuse, you might want to pause, and look at other companies that offer work at home jobs.

There are plenty of work at home jobs out there. If you are currently looking to work in your home office, do not give up! Continue to search, explore, research, and investigate and you will find that there really are legitimate jobs that will pay you to work at home.
